Female officer Training

Women also are actively taking part with the socio-economic development of Bangladesh. Bangladesh Navy is the pioneer force to induct lady cadets for regular commissioned service training. The history started on 12 January 2000, when 16 female cadets joined in BNA

Female cadets are trained in the same curriculum and duration as of male cadets. However, considering their capabilities and constraints, achievable standards are set for females in physical training.

At present more than 90 female officers are serving in BN. Some of them are also serving in Rapid Action Battalion (RAB), Directorate General Force Intelligent (DGFI), MIST, Special Security Force (SSF), Coast Guard. Many Officers have visited different countries like England, China, Indonesia, India, Pakistan, Ivory coast and other countries for the purpose of training, seminars etc. Female officers are also sent for UN Mission.
