Rear Admiral Mustaque Ahmed, NPP, ndc, psc (P No 811) Rear Admiral Mustaque Ahmed joined Bangladesh Navy on 1St July, 1989. He was commissioned on 1st January, 1992. He did his basic training in Bangladesh Naval Academy and also in Royal Malaysian Naval Academy. He is a Gunnery Specialist. He graduated from Defense Services Command and Staff College, Mirpur and attended Naval War Course in Lahore, Pakistan. Rear Admiral Mustaque Ahmed obtained multiple degrees including a Bachelor of Science as well as a Master's degree in Security Studies. Additionally, he had his Executive Master's in Business Administration.
In the passage of his career he served in various capacities of command, staff, instructional appointments. Rear Admiral Mustaque Ahmed served as an instructor at Gunnery School and the Naval Academy. He held the responsibility of Staff Officer (Training) in the Naval Headquarters and the Training Commander of Bangladesh Naval Academy. He was the Secretary to the Chief of Naval Staff. In UN Peace Mission, he Served as Military Observer at Darfur, Sudan. The Rear Admiral had the privilege of visiting numerous countries of all continents of the world including Malaysia, Indonesia, Brunei, Turkey, UK, USA, Lebanon, Saudi Arabia, UAE, Bahrain, Qatar, India, Pakistan, Thailand, Hong Kong, Singapore, Sudan, Australia, New Zealand, Netherlands, Belgium, Brazil, France, Germany, Switzerland, Italy, Myanmar and Morocco. He speaks fluent Malay and has a diploma in French language. Rear Admiral Mustaque Ahmed commanded Missile Boats, Fast Attact Crafts, Offshore Patrol vessel and the Flag Ship Frigate BNS KHALID BIN WALID. He also commanded a major Naval Base HAJI MOHSIN. Nonetheless, in recent years, he served as the Defense Adviser in Malaysia, Commander Flotilla West and Deputy Commmandant Defence Services Command and Staff College. He is happily married to Farhana Jubaida and the couple is blessed with a daughter Maliyat and a son Noor. His hobby is trimming Bonsai, feeding birds and animals and writting.
