TRAINING DESIGN AND EVALUATION CELL (TDEC)
The Training Design and Evaluation Cell (TDEC) established in BN on 14 Nov 2011. It sets up within the existing manpower resources of the training establishments/professional schools. TDEC is split up into two areas viz Training Design and Training Evaluation as given below:
Training Design
1. To carry out task analysis keeping in minds the job specifications laid down for each course.
2. Prepare training objectives in respect of the tasks lists identified for different specialist jobs.
3. Design master syllabus to ensure that the Training Objectives have been catered for.
4. Coordinate the preparation of standard lesson plans.
5. Keep abreast of the latest trends in the field of teaching method Training Technology and analyse these for their implementation.
Training Evaluation
1. To carry out task analysis keeping in minds the job specifications laid down for each course.
2. Co-ordinate to generate Question Banks.
3. Co-ordinate setting up of standardized question papers based on Table of Specification (TOS).
4. Carry out Input/Output Analysis and analyse the emerging pattern in order to quantify training efficiency.
5. Formulate and analyse follow up Reports for various courses to improve the quality of training.
6. Carry out instructor evaluation.
7. Conduct course critiques to find out deficiency in training.
Training Monitoring
Monitoring training is essential to make it meaningful and keeping it on track. The method of monitoring needs to be used consistently. Monitoring increases training effectiveness. The more consistent the monitoring, the more meaningful the training will be. BN training monitoring system also job specific and functions in following process:
1. Inspect the training curriculum to meet the course enabling objectives.
2. Periodic training audit to ensure effective training is imparted.
3. Ensure essential means of teaching along with lesson plans are implemented.
4. Monitoring training allows to reconcile what was planned for training and what was achieved.
Quality Control
Quality control is a concept to check the products manufactured in certain process. BN has its own method to check the attributes of the training system:
1. Analyse the feedback of courses/training for comparative study.
2. Sort out the deficient points in existing training methods/curriculum.
3. Plan carefully taking in to account the outcomes of comparative study focusing the training objectives.
4. Quality is the key, paying particular attention to that, trainers are being trained to impart quality training to BN personnel.
