Rear Admiral Golam Sadeq, NBP, NGP, ndc, ncc, psc
Rear Admiral Golam Sadeq, NBP, NGP, ndc, ncc, psc joined Bangladesh Navy on 1st January, 1987. He completed 3 years basic Naval Officers' Training in Malyasia and returned as a Commissioned Officer in 1990. Throughout his distinguished career, Rear Admiral Sadeq has demonstrated exceptional leadership and expertise across various naval roles. Notable highlights of his career includes his performance as ADC to the Chief of Naval Staff. He also played a pivotal role in establishing the School of Maritime Warfare and Tactics (SMWT) which is a significant advancement for Bangladesh Navy's training capabilities.
Rear Admiral Sadeq has proved his entrusted worthiness in command responsibilities. He commanded Missile Boat at a very early stage of his naval career as Lieutenant. He also commanded several Naval Ships, including Patrol Crafts BNS SHAHEED FARID and BNS BARKAT, Mine Sweeper BNS SAGAR and Offshore Patrol Vessel BNS GOMATI. He also served as Commanding Officer of Frigate BNS ABU BAKR. In addition to his sea command experience, the Admiral has commanded three very important training bases namely Bangladesh Naval Academy, BNS ISSA KHAN and BNS SHAHEED MOAZZAM. He also commanded the Special Warfare Diving and Salvage Command (SWADS). Outside of his naval duties, he served as Chairman of the Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Authority (BIWTA), contributing significantly to inland waterway operations and bilateral relationships with neighbouring countries. He also served as the Chairman of Payra Port Authority and facilitated port development and international agreements. The Admiral also had the opportunity to serve as the member of the Senate and syndicate of University of Professionals from 2015-2018.
In his illustrious career, the Admiral underwent various professional courses both at home and abroad. The Admiral topped the 47th Junior Command and Staff Course in Command and Staff Training Institute of Bangladesh Air Force in 1996 and was awarded with "Top Gun trophy". He obtained "Honourable Mention" from CNO during the Naval Command Course at the US Navy War College in class of 2012. For his dedicated service towards Navy, the Admiral was awarded with the peace time medal 'Nou Bahini Padak' (NBP) and 'Nou Gourab Padak' (NGP). He also earned CNS Commendation for extraordinary service. In addition, he was awarded with the "National Integrity Award" by the Ministry of Shipping for the year 2020-21. The Admiral also took his organization BIWTA to win the "Annual Performance Award" consecutively in the years of 2020-21 and 2021-22. He commanded Khulna Naval Area as COMKHUL. Recently he has served as Senior Directing Staff (Navy) of prestigious National Defence College, Mirpur. The Admiral is appointed as Assistant Chief of Naval Staff (Personnel) at Naval Headquarters on 05 April 2026
Rear Admiral Sadeq is happily married to Mrs. Nusrat Sadeq and is the proud father of a son and a daughter pursuing higher education.
