Commodore Masudul Karim Siddique (G), BSP, PCGM, BCGMS, ndc, ncc, psc, BN
Commodore Masudul Karim Siddique (G), BSP, PCGM, BCGMS, ndc, ncc, psc, BN joined Bangladesh Navy as an Officer Cadet on 01 January 1993 and was commissioned into the Executive Branch on 01 July 1995. A gunnery specialist by profession, he completed his Long Gunnery Course from PNS BAHADUR, Pakistan.
Over a distinguished career spanning more than 30 years, Commodore Siddique has held a wide range of command, staff, instructional, and operational appointments, reflecting a fine blend of professional excellence and academic depth. He is the pioneer Commanding Officer of one of the newly commissioned Offshore Patrol Vessels (OPVs) of the Bangladesh Coast Guard.
His notable appointments include Director Plans at Coast Guard Headquarters (CGHQ), Chief Staff Officer to Commander Chattogram Naval Area (COMCHIT), Divisional Officer at Bangladesh Naval Academy (BNA), Directing Staff at Defence Services Command and Staff College (DSCSC), Dhaka, and Commanding Officer of BNS SHAHEED MOAZZAM and BNS ISSA KHAN. He also served as Commandant and Commanding Officer of Bangladesh Naval Academy (BNA). The officer worked as a Blue Helmet peacekeeper in Sudan and South Sudan during United Nations peacekeeping missions. Currently, he is serving as Commander Flotilla West.
Commodore Siddique has attended numerous professional and academic courses both at home and abroad. These include the Basic Theory of Guided Missile Course at the Naval Aeronautical Engineering Academy, Yantai, China; Potential Platoon Commander Course (PPCC) from Bangladesh Military Academy; Maritime Warfare & Tactics Course from the School of Maritime Warfare and Tactics (SMWT); Junior Command & Staff Course (JCSC) from Command and Staff Training Institute (CSTI), BAF Base Bashar; Naval Staff Course from DSCSC, Mirpur, Dhaka; Naval Staff Course from Defence Services Staff College (DSSC), Wellington, India; and the Anti-Terrorism & Piracy Course from Naval Air Station, Pensacola, USA. He also completed the Naval Command College (NCC) course at the Naval War College, USA in 2020, and the National Defence Course (NDC) at the National Defence College, Dhaka in 2025.
In recognition of his outstanding contributions to the Bangladesh Navy, he has been awarded with Bishisto Seba Padak (BSP). Bangladesh Coast Guard also awarded him the Bangladesh Coast Guard Medal (Sheba) and the President Coast Guard Medal. Commodore Siddique has a keen interest in writing articles for English-language newspapers. He is happily married to Mrs. Nishat Siddique and is blessed with a son and a daughter.
